You’ll have to flush the new filter for 5 minutes to condition it.
Does this filter cartridge replacement require gaskets?
Gaskets are not essential for this specific filter. The filter's soft end caps establish a good sealing when the filter is being pressed down by the housing cover/lid while you are tightening it.
When should I replace the filter?
It is recommended to change the filter every 6 months or when water taste changes or water flow reduces significantly it's probably time to replace the filter.
Should I turn off the water valve when I change the filter?
Yes, please shut off the water supply before you change the filter.
