It monitors soil moisture, temperature, and soil EC, ranging from 0% to 100% of saturation, -40℃ ~ +80℃, and 0 ~ 10000 μs/cm, making it widely applicable in industrial environmental sensing scenarios.

We have two versions Industrial Soil Moisture & Temperature Sensor. The main difference is the cable connector. Please choose the version that best suits your needs:

（1）This one is with hook-up wires. It is compatible with SenseCAP LoRaWAN® Data Loggerto connect with the LoRaWAN® network, enjoying the benefits of low-power and long-range communication.

（2）Another version is with a waterproof aviation connector. It is compatible with SenseCAP Sensor Hub 4G Data Logger, which can collect various sensor data simultaneously and send them via 3G/4G LTE.

Description

Soil electrical conductivity (EC) is the level of salts in soil (salinity). These parameters are vital indicators of soil fertility and health and ultimately affect the plants. When there is a high soil salinity, the salt will make it difficult for the plants to consume water even though there is a high moisture level in the soil. This situation will ultimately "burn" the plants. Plants grow best in their preferred environment, within the optimal ranges of soil moisture, temperature, and EC level. Growers need to have data on these parameters and understand what actions need to take to ensure plant health and higher yield.

This Soil Moisture & Temperature & EC Sensor MODBUS-RTU RS485 is designed with industry standards, featuring high precision, high sensitivity, and durability. Incorporating three sensors (soil moisture sensor, soil temperature sensor, and soil electrical conductivity) into one, and it comes with auto temperature compensation, this sensor ensures the accuracy of measurements regardless of the environmental changes.

By measuring the dielectric constant of the soil, it can stably measure the soil VWC (volumetric water content) regardless of various soil types. The measurement conforms to current international standards for soil moisture measurement.

The stainless steel probe can be permanently inserted into the soil with quick testing for long-term use. This soil sensor is IP68 rated, very robust and durable, and suitable to be applied for long-term monitoring of soil moisture, temperature, and electrical conductivity at scientific experiments, water-saving irrigation, gardening, greenhouses, outdoor farming, horticulture, golf turf management, forestry, precision agriculture, and other professional environmental monitoring scenarios. This sensor can also be used to measure EC levels in the water, nutrient solution, and other substrates.
