The MAX262 dual second-order universal switched capacitor active filter allows the microprocessor to control precise filter functions. Various bandpass, lowpass, highpass, notch, and allpass configurations require no external components. Each device contains two second-order filter sections, which put the center frequency, Q and filter operating mode under program control. The input clock together with the 6-bit f0 program input determines the center frequency or corner frequency of the filter without affecting other filter parameters. The filter Q can also be independently programmed. The individual clock input of each filter section can work through crystal oscillator, RC network or external clock generator. The MAX262 extends the center frequency range to 140kHz by using a lower clock to f0 ratio.
Precautions for using the module
(1) The power supply of the module is a positive and negative dual power supply, and the voltage cannot exceed 5.5V.
(2) Since the module is a high-precision device, in order to avoid unnecessary interference, it is recommended to use a linear power supply.
(3) It is recommended to use SMA to BNC line input and output signals for output signals. Use an oscilloscope to observe the effect. Poor contact or poor quality wires may cause signal attenuation or excessive noise.
(4) The filter measurement generally adopts the oscilloscope point frequency method. If possible, it can be tested with a frequency sweeper or a vector network analyzer.
(5) If you need to simply test the function of the module, it is recommended to use it with the control board of our store. Power the module first, and then power the control board to control the filter. Long press the middle button to switch the function.
(6) The delivered code is only used for the supporting main control board, and does not provide a single-chip tutorial, additional functions need to be developed by themselves.
Frequently asked questions
Q: The output waveform of the module is jagged, and the noise is relatively heavy. Is the effect correct?
A: MAX262 is a switched capacitor filter, and the sawtooth of the switching frequency will appear on the waveform. It seems that the noise is very heavy. It is recommended to use a good wire, or add an analog low-pass filter to the output to make the waveform much better This module is shipped after inspection and testing, and there is no problem with the normal driving effect.
Q: Can the module notch? Can I do band-stop?
A: The two channels of the module are completely independent. After the two channels are connected in parallel, the notch or band stop can be achieved. This needs to be debugged by the buyer.
Q: When setting the filter, it is generally better to set the Q value?
A: It is recommended to set it to 0 first, and gradually increase the effect according to the needs. It should not be too large. Excessive Q value will lead to self-excited linearity and disordered filtering effect.
Q: Can the module store the set data and mode?
A: The module itself does not have storage. Each time the power is turned on, it needs to be rewritten into the register.
